County Wicklow is 20–80km from Dublin depending on your destination. Bray and Woodbrook are just 20km, about 30 minutes. Druids Glen is approximately 40km — roughly 35 minutes via the N11. Arklow and the south Wicklow courses are 70–80km, about 70 minutes from the M50.

Do I need a handicap certificate to play golf in Wicklow?

Handicap requirements vary by course. The championship venues — Druids Glen, Powerscourt, Tulfarris and Rathsallagh — require a handicap certificate (typically maximum 28 for men and 36 for ladies). Most other Wicklow courses welcome all visitors without a handicap requirement, including Arklow Golf Links, Wicklow Golf Club, Blainroe, Woodenbridge, Coollattin, Delgany and Greystones.

What is the best time of year to play golf in County Wicklow?

The prime season runs from April to October. May and June are particularly excellent — courses in peak condition, the Wicklow scenery at its finest, and green fees still at mid-season rates.
