Set within the grounds of the magnificent Powerscourt Estate, with the iconic Sugar Loaf Mountain as a constant backdrop — one of the most scenically spectacular rounds of golf in Ireland.
Powerscourt Golf Club – East Course
Powerscourt Golf Club's East Course is set within the breathtaking grounds of the Powerscourt Estate — one of Ireland's most magnificent historic demesnes — in the village of Enniskerry, just 25 kilometres south of Dublin. Designed by former Walker Cup captain Peter McEvoy and opened in 1996, the East Course has earned a devoted following for its combination of fine design, stunning scenery and excellent conditioning.
The par-72 layout stretches to 6,441 yards and winds through mature woodland, ornamental gardens and open parkland, with the Great Sugar Loaf Mountain providing a dramatic backdrop to almost every hole. Water features prominently throughout the design, with several holes requiring precise carries over lakes and streams. The 16th — a spectacular par three over water — is among the most visually arresting holes in Wicklow golf.
Advance booking is required for visitors. Powerscourt also offers the David McLay Kidd-designed West Course on the same estate, giving golfers the option of a two-course visit. The Estate's famous gardens, five-star hotel and excellent restaurant facilities make Powerscourt one of the most complete golf destinations in Leinster.
